The author of this volume has been for many years a reporter of scientific medical meetings in England. He has found it necessary to develop a great number of signs for medical words and phrases in order to gain speed. His book on the subject is largely a list of such signs, and a number of exercises to be practiced by the shorthand writer who wants to acquire speed in the medical field. In a brief introduction to his book, Mr. Dickinson explains some of the difficulties liable to be encountered. The volume will be exceedingly useful to any medical shorthand writer.
