State Medical Election.—
Dr. Charles S. Smith, Nogales, was chosen president elect of the Arizona State Medical Association at its annual meeting in Tucson April 21-23. Dr. Harold W. Rice of Bisbee was installed as president. Other officers are Drs. Leslie R. Kober, Phoenix, vice president; Delamere F. Harbridge, Phoenix, secretary, and Clarence E. Yount, Prescott, treasurer.
Two New Mental Institutes.—
Construction will soon begin on two state mental health centers, one in Los Angeles and one near San Francisco, newspapers reported April 10. Authorized by the 1937 legislature, the centers will each cost about $1,500,000 and have a capacity of 300 beds. All mental cases will be cleared through the centers.
