ABSTRACT

In this little volume Palumbo discusses the value of radium in the treatment of diseases of the skin. The general part of the book takes up the physical foundations of radium therapy, the radioactive transformations, the biologic basis of radium therapy and the action of alpha, beta and gamma radiation on the skin. In the special portion of the book the technical aspects of the radium treatment of various dermatoses is illustrated. The excellence of the results that may be obtained by correct treatment is shown by many photographs of patients. In no sense can this book be regarded as an exhaustive treatise; rather it constitutes a brief setting forth of well established facts.
