Society News.—
Reuben L. Kahn, Sc.D., director of clinical laboratories, University Hospital, Ann Arbor, Mich., addressed the Pima County Medical Society, recently, on "The Basis of Allergy in Man."
Appointments to State Health Department.—
Dr. Alvy N. Crain, Phoenix, formerly director of the Maricopa County health unit, has been appointed director of local health administration of the state department of health, succeeding Dr. George A. Hays; Dr. Jack B. Eason, Yuma, has been placed in charge of the bureau of maternal and child health. Dr. Crain graduated at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1913. Dr. Eason graduated at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, in 1930.
