This alphabetical consideration of medical practice proceeds from "apraxia" to carriers in infective disease. Among articles especially likely to attract wide attention are those dealing with arthritis, athletic injuries, birth palsies, blood examination, brain abscess, breast diseases, cancer, and carriers in infective disease. Volume II is just as handsome as the first volume from a typographic point of view. The material is printed on a fine paper stock, arranged on the pages for easy reference, beautifully illustrated with many colored plates, and written by authors who have achieved repute in the fields with which they are concerned. As in the first volume, the distinctly British character of the work is reflected by the use of the British Pharmacopeia and a failure to recognize many recent American medical contributions.
