The number includes also 106 Canadians, 3 who died in the Philippine Islands, 2 each in Africa, Alaska, England, India and South America, and 1 each in China, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Panama and Puerto Rico. The obituaries of 103 women physicians were published, as compared with 83 in 1935. The number of graduates of medical schools in the United States for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1936, was 5,183. Therefore the net increase in the medical profession is 1,708.
