ABSTRACT

ARIZONA 

Bills Introduced.—  S. 101 proposes to establish a state department of health, to consist of the state board of health and the state commissioner of public health. The state board of health is to consist of five members, three of whom must be members of the Arizona State Medical Association. The board of health is to appoint the commissioner of health, who is to be the executive officer of the department. The board is to adopt policies, rules and regulations for the government of the state department of health. The state department is to maintain basic divisions in epidemiology, vital statistics, sanitary engineering, laboratories for the diagnosis and control of diseases, maternal and child hygiene, and such other divisions as may be necessary to promote the public health. The bill also proposes a set-up for county and district departments of health. S. 131 proposes to regulate the practice of
