Institute for Negro Physicians.—
The state department of health cooperated with the Jefferson County Health Department and the Slossfield Health Center in a five day institute for Negro physicians of the state at the health center in Birmingham, July 9-13.
Changes in Health Officers.—
Dr. Charles J. Fisher, formerly health officer of Tuscaloosa County, has been named to a similar position in Lauderdale County.—Dr. Sydney E. Langer, U. S. Public Health Service, has been appointed health officer of Calhoun County to succeed the late Dr. Artice E. Culberson, Anniston. Dr. Culberson died while serving as acting health officer of the county following the resignation of Dr. Julius E. Dunn, Anniston, as health officer of Calhoun and Etowah counties to enter private practice in Wetumpka. Dr. Elmus K. Hanby, Attalla, is acting health officer in Etowah County.
