The committee of the League of Nations1 formed to investigate the problem of nutrition found the subject too extensive for the presentation of a comprehensive report to the 1936 assembly of the league. The preliminary report of the committee consists of four volumes: 1. An Interim Report of the Mixed Committee on the Problem of Nutrition, embodying the suggestions made by the committee to the assembly and giving a general idea of the problems involved. 2. A report on the Physiological Bases of Nutrition, drawn up by the Technical Commission of the Health Committee and forming the starting point of the scientific aspect of the nutrition problem. 3. A Report on Nutrition in Various Countries, which gives the substance of the actual data received by the committee, including the essential portion of the information contained in the replies of certain governments to the secretary-general's circular letter of Nov. 30,
