This is in reality a new work, since the book, which originally appeared in 1921, has been completely revised and the type reset. As in the previous edition, the authors have endeavored to present as accurately and simply as possible for the pupil nurse the actual detailed nursing of the various conditions related to things surgical. That the authors have succeeded is evidenced by the fact that the book has made its place as the textbook selected by the faculty in training schools throughout the country. Proper emphasis is given to the preoperative preparation and postoperative treatment. There have been notable developments in certain branches of surgery during the last eight years.
