MEDICAL LEGISLATION 

MEDICAL BILLS IN CONGRESS 

Change in Status.—  Public hearings have been scheduled before a subcommittee of the House Committee on Appropriations on the budget estimate for funds to continue the obstetric and pediatric program for the wives and infants of servicemen. The hearings will be held on April 27 and 28.

Bills Introduced.—  H. R. 4445, introduced by Representative Bolton, Ohio, proposes to authorize temporary appointment as officers in the Army of the United States of members of the Army Nurse Corps, female persons having the necessary qualifications for appointment in such corps, female dietetic and physical therapy personnel of the Medical Department of the Army, exclusive of students and apprentices, and female persons having the necessary qualifications for appointment in such department as female dietetic or physical therapy personnel. H. R. 4519, introduced by Representative Fish, New York, proposes an appropriation of $1,000,000 to provide seeing
