University of Bologna
The department of public instruction has signed an agreement with the University of Bologna for the general improvement of that institution. A number of halls will be modernized and new buildings, costing 58 million lire, will be constructed. This will require eight years.
Congress of Urology
The Società Italiana di Urologia recently held its seventh congress in Rome with Prof. Roberto Alessandri, clinical surgeon, presiding. The subject of the report was "Colibacilluria." It was divided into two parts. The first part (etiology, pathogenesis and immunotherapy) was presented by Prof. Vincenzo Jura of Rome. The second part (symptomatology, pathologic anatomy, diagnosis, prognosis and therapy) was discussed by Prof. Luigi Bonanone of Rome. Professor Jura reported that Bacillus coli, although often ignored, is present in the urine in from 80 to 90 per cent of cases of urinary disease. Colibacilluria may be primary (colibacillosis) or secondary (colibacillemia), symptomatic or
