The series "Pathologie médicale" is intended to fill the place once so acceptably occupied by Dieulafoy's four volumes. The preface states that the aim is to offer a work that will fit in between the larger didactic treatises and the smaller quizcompends. By omission of many details and of confusing theory it is hoped that the reader will be furnished with the established essentials of medicine. The needs of the undergraduate and of the busy practitioner are especially kept in mind by the authors. The specialist will consult larger works, monographs and original articles.
