The Dina-Mite Food Company of Los Angeles submitted to the Committee on Foods a mixture of cracked hard and soft wheats, wheat bran and partially defatted flaxseed meal called "Dina-Mite (Blue Label) Wheat Base: Wheat—Bran—Flax" and a mixture of rolled oats, wheat bran and partially defatted flaxseed meal called "Dina-Mite (Red Label) Oat Base: Oats— Bran—Flax."
Discussion of Name, Label and Advertising.—
The labels carry the statements: "Wheat-Bran-Flax... Oats-Bran-Flax... Natural laxative food for young and old... With all their vital elements, protein, bulk and minerals... Dina-Mite used daily gives the system... the proteins-heating-foods-roughage-bulk and minerals."The name Dina-Mite for a laxative food is vulgar. The label statement listing food ingredients is incorrect, as partially defatted flax, and not "flax," is an ingredient. The indigestible
