To the Editor:
—In The Journal, June 9, Drs. Kelly and Phinizy report the inauguration at University of Georgia Medical Department of what they call domiciliary medicine in fourth year medical teaching. The authors, and perhaps other readers of The Journal, may be interested to learn that at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons we included similar work in the clinical teaching of fourth year students for a period of about ten years, beginning in October, 1911. This feature of clinical teaching was discontinued in 1920, when Dean S. W. Lambert resigned. I made a somewhat detailed report of the work in the New York Medical Journal, Nov. 13, 1915, under the title "Clinical Teaching."
