Dr. Seth F. H. Howes, assistant superintendent of the New Hampshire State Hospital at Concord, was appointed superintendent of the Arizona State Hospital, Phoenix, July 11. The position has been open since Dr. Otto L. Bendheim was given a leave of absence to enter milita ry service.—Dr. Grover C. Daniel, manager of the Veterans Administration Facility in Walla Walla, Wash., since 1939, has been named to a similar position at the facility in Whipple to succeed Dr. Walter B. Swackhamer, retired.
Program of Health Education.—
The Maricopa County Health Department is cooperating in a program of health education in Phoenix and Maricopa County, which will consist of three projects: a teacher training program in health education to be conducted in cooperation with school authorities in Phoenix and the county and the Arizona State Teachers College at Tempe, an adult health education program for community groups in both urban
