ABSTRACT

General Dunham to Go to Ecuador  Brigadier General George C. Dunham, Medical Corps, U. S. Army, has been appointed director of a new division of health and sanitation in the Office of Inter-American Affairs. General Dunham will be placed at the head of a mission which is going to Ecuador to undertake malaria control, improvement of sewage disposal and other sanitary measures in cooperation with the Ecuadorean government. According to Science, members of the mission will include Dr. Walter C. Earle of the International Health Division of the Rockefeller Foundation and recently health officer of the Champaign-Urbana (Ill.) health district. General Dunham was chief of the division of preventive medicine, Office of the Surgeon General, War Department, from 1922 to 1925; director, military sanitation, medical field service school, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania, 1926-1931; technical adviser of public health to the governor general of the Philippine Islands, 1931-1935, and director of laboratories
