ABSTRACT

SAN DIEGO CENTRAL CLINIC SERVICE  The Central Clinic Service of San Diego originated with a suggestion from the Health Council of the Community Welfare Council. The objective was to provide an organized method of meeting the medical needs of the resident indigents and others whose incomes would permit either a part or full pay service. The Central Clinic Committee is composed of representatives of the county medical society, the community welfare council, the county and city health departments, county hospital advisory board, health and development department of the city schools, navy relief, Mercy Hospital and San Diego Hospital. An executive secretary and staff operate under the supervision of the board of directors.
