Physicians' Art and Garden Societies.—
The Los Angeles Physicians Art Society opened the fall season with a dinner at the Los Angeles County Medical Association on November 28. Mr. Roger Noble Burnham, Los Angeles, modeled a portrait in relief of a member of the audience, and Mrs. Burnham discussed the history of sculpture. The Los Angeles County Medical Garden Club recently held its fall flower show. Officers of the garden club include Drs. Robert B. Hope, president; Hyman Miller and Albert G. Bower, vice presidents, and Samuel Ayres Jr., secretary.
New Comprehensive Study of the Common Cold.—
The University of California Medical School, San Francisco, began a comprehensive two year study of the common cold and other respiratory diseases in November.
