ABSTRACT

International Society for Study of Scientific Problems of Population  The purpose of the International Society for the Study of the Problems of Population is to bring together biologists, sociologists, economists, physicians, statisticians and statesmen for the study of the problems of population to determine the optimal population for the countries of the world for the different epochs. Every country has its delegates serving on committees. The Netherlands committee belongs to the active committees and numbers fifty-five members: Professor Aalberse is founder and president; Prof. Verrijn Stuart is vice president. There are three investigating committees, the second of which, that on the frequency of births, is presided over by Professor Methorst. The first committee is to study the relations between the food supply and the birth rate and is presided over by Professor Mees of Wageningen. The third committee has no program, having received no instructions as yet from the international
