An All-India Medical Council  The withdrawal of recognition of Indian medical degrees by the general medical council because of the refusal of Indian universities to allow inspection of their examinations was reported in The Journal, April 12, page 1156. The holding of an all-India conference for the maintenance of proper standards in provincial institutions for medical education has also been reported (August 9, p. 423). This conference of provincial and university representatives considered the creation of an all India medical council for the purpose of maintaining a uniform standard of qualifications for the graduates of Indian universities and decided that the necessary steps should be taken without delay.
