Although this book, because of its concise discussion, has many admirable points, it cannot be recommended to any class of students. Its section on endocrinology is antiquated. Collip's parathyroid extract is not even mentioned, although it has been well established as an important hormone by laboratory tests and clinical results for five or six years. Robertson's tethelin is mentioned, but the work of the past five years on the hypophysis and neighboring regions of the brain (Philip Smith, Evans, Kamm, Teel and others) seems to have completely escaped notice. One surely cannot condone such important omissions in a manual designed for students and practitioners.
