ABSTRACT

To the Editor:  The Journal of September 4 published the work of Young and Youmans on the treatment of infectious arthritis by the use of ortho-iodoxybenzoic acid. Through some error, a note of recognition at the end of the paper in which we thank Dr. A. S. Loevenhart of the University of Wisconsin for his personal interest in our work and also for a personal communication from him in which he stated that in 1910 he had treated a number of cases of arthritis in Cook County Hospital with this compound with apparently beneficial results was omitted. However, this note appears in the reprints and was probably omitted from The Journal for the sake of brevity. The authors regret very much that this occurred and they are pleased to make formal correction of this omission.
