Illegal Practitioner Fined.
—Following a plea of guilty in the superior court of Kern County to a charge of violating the state medical practice act, Harley Hulse Heddens was sentenced recently to pay a fine of $200 and serve six months in the county jail; the jail sentence was suspended for the present; the fine was paid. Heddens' line of work in Bakersfield is said to have been "abortions and serum injections."
