ABSTRACT

This is the first volume of what will eventually be a four volume work, covering data in every field of biologic science. The entire book consists of tables selected from numerous sources. They make reference simple in that they assemble under one cover material that might otherwise have to be sought in numerous textbooks. The first volume is devoted largely to mathematics, physics and mechanics, but with many tables of primary medical interest; for example, one section on physical optics, one on the anatomy and physiology of the eye, one on the physiology of the countenance, one on body temperature, and one on anesthesia. Subsequent volumes will include tabulated data on all the aspects of chemistry and physiology, including the composition and food values of various substances, immunity, and the biology of plants and animals.
