The Medical Congress  The third annual scientific meeting of the Medical Association of South Africa was held at Durban this year at the end of July. This year's session was held under the new rules, which were on trial, and the results of the experiment are interesting. It has always been felt that sectional meetings, especially in a country like South Africa where specialization is still in its infancy, precluded many from taking full advantage of the congress. What was wanted was some arrangement whereby men interested in various specialties could join together to discuss subjects of common interest. This arrangement has been found in the "plenary meetings," at which all sections were represented and for which subjects of common interest were chosen.
