ABSTRACT

This popular manual of diseases of the nose and throat has gone into seven editions and its author's name is a testimonial of its excellence and authenticity. The anatomic descriptions are excellent and many of the plates are taken from classic works. The bulk of the treatment of the various diseases of the nose and throat is devoted to etiology, symptoms and diagnosis with no unusual stress on surgical procedures, and this is properly so for a book of this type intended for students and practitioners. To be especially commended is the author's handling of suppurative diseases of the accessory nasal sinuses and in particular that part devoted to their occurrence in children. In addition, the diseases of the pharynx and larynx are adequately dealt with and the book in its entirety serves its purpose well.
