—Dr. Archibald B. Elkin, director of the Good Samaritan Clinic, Atlanta, Ga., who was the guest of the Calhoun Medical Society at Anniston, Ala., May 20, gave an address on "Diseases of the Ductless Glands" and conducted a clinic at St. Michael's Hospital.
Birmingham's Tuberculosis Sanatorium.
—Contracts have been awarded for the construction of the tuberculosis sanatorium in Birmingham for which that city and Jefferson County recently subscribed $200,000. The site is a tract of 83 acres on the Montgomery Highway, already bought and paid for. The city and the Board of Revenue have each pledged $20,000 a year for maintenance of the sanatorium. Work will start at once and the building will be ready for occupancy
