RADIOTHERAPY IN DERMATOLOGY
The first topic, "Roentgen Rays and Radium in Dermatology," was presented under two separate heads. The first, "Radiology in Relation to Dermatology," was discussed by Prof. Jader Cappelli, director of the Clinica di Firenze, who recalled the various theories on the mechanism of the action of radiations; he discussed the influence they exert on the unicellular organisms and the factors that determine the radiosensitiveness of the tissues, particularly the skin. He explained the clinical and anatomic characteristics of roentgen and radium reactions on healthy skin and on skin affected with various pathologic changes, bringing out the mode of reaction of each. Professor Capelli reviewed the dermatoses and for each explained the indications for radiotherapy
