This is the fourteenth edition of a small guide to ear, nose and throat diseases originally compiled from the author's lectures. It is designed primarily in its present form for the use of general practitioners, and as such, is far more detailed and text-laden than similar volumes published in England and America. For this reason there is little to recommend it to the practitioner on this side of the water. The diagnostic methods and instrumentation advised will seem crude and awkward to the American physician, and it is doubtful whether much of the armamentarium described is still obtainable in our up-to-date instrument houses. The illustrations do little to assist the reader through the verbosity of the text, as they consist principally of small pen pictures.
