—Dr. William H. Abernathy, Florence, recently resigned as county health officer of Lauderdale County, and has been appointed health officer of Pike County and will reside in Troy. He succeeds Dr. Douglas Cannon, who has been appointed state director of county health work.
New Sanitation Rules.
—New regulations defining the sanitary requirements, facilities and conditions under which circuses, street fairs, county agricultural fairs and similar exhibitions may be held in Alabama were adopted by the state board of health, July 10. Permanent exhibition grounds are to be provided, with separate drinking fountains, plainly designated for each race. Persons suffering from any communicable disease are prohibited from handling or serving food or beverages on any exhibition grounds.—Temporary camps
