Prevention of Tuberculosis
After an interval of several years, due to the war, the National Association for the Prevention of Tuberculosis has resumed its annual conference. A number of distinguished foreign physicians, including Dr. Linsly Williams, Prof. William C.White, Dr. David Lyman and Dr. C. J. Hatfield, of the United States, were present. Dr. Addison, minister of health, delivered an address. He said that the war had added, from the ranks of those who had served with the forces, to the number of tuberculosis patients. In consequence of the necessary suspension of many of our activities, the absence of many skilled men from the tuberculosis service in the ranks of the army medical corps, and the entrance of a large number of women into industrial service, there had been an increase in tuberculosis in some directions, notably among women. It was one of the functions of the
