State Medical Society Meeting.
—The Medical Society of the State of California will hold its annual meeting at Santa Barbara, April 15-17.
Expenditures for Influenza.
—Dr. William C. Hassler, city health officer of San Francisco, reported to the supervisors' finance committee that $35,292 had been expended of the $50,000 provided for the relief of needy sufferers during the influenza pandemic.
Conviction Sustained.
—The district court of appeals, February 18, confirmed the conviction of Dr. William S. Card, San Francisco, on the second degree murder charge coming out of an alleged illegal operation performed May 21, 1918. Dr. Card was convicted in the superior court, July 9, 1918, and sentenced to imprisonment for an indeterminate term.
