Influenza.
—According to the report of Dr. William C. Hassler, health officer of San Francisco, out of an appropriation of $50,000 for combating influenza in the city, $35,293 was spent for that purpose. The secretary of the state board of health, Dr. W. F. Kellogg, late in February sent out circular letters to local health boards in an endeavor to determine whether there was a third wave of epidemic influenza throughout the state.
