This investigation was undertaken for the purpose of improving the sanitary condition of the swimming pools at this institution. The first experiments were conducted on the pool located at the men's armory and gymnasium, and later comparative studies were made on a pool that had been recently installed at the women's gymnasium.
SWIMMING POOL AT MEN'S ARMORY AND GYMNASIUM
This pool is located on the ground floor of the building (Figs. 1 and 2). It is 59 feet, 6 inches in length, 25 feet in width, and has a water depth of 7½ feet at one end and 3½ feet at the other. The capacity of the pool, when filled to the normal water line, is about 60,000 gallons. The walls of the pool are constructed of reinforced concrete which is covered with white tile.
