Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead
where there is no path and leave a trail.—Muriel Strode
Surgeons, like other busy medical professionals, have
little time to waste, either in or out
of the operating room. The Internet can be a useful tool for obtaining
clinical information relevant to surgical practice, both from general
professional sites and through specialty and subspecialty sites.
As with other disciplines, the depth and breadth of information
available to surgeons online vary widely; some surgical subspecialties
have far more substantial Web resources available than do others. Less
developed specialty areas, no doubt, will become richer with time.
