A new guideline on treatment of depression provides an overview of the effectiveness of various therapeutic options and offers stronger guidance on assessing suicide risk, as well as on the care of pregnant and postpartum women and patients who have difficult-to-treat depression.
Both psychotherapy and antidepressant medications may be good first-line choices for individuals with mild to moderate depression, according to a new guideline.
