Rheumatology in Practice

Rheumatology in Practice is authored by Jose Antonio Pereira da Silva and Anthony Woolf, both professors of rheumatology. This book provides a diagnostic strategy for diseases of the musculoskeletal system by providing practical guidance for evaluating symptoms and methodically coupling them with findings on the physical examination.

The book includes 30 chapters. The first few cover the basics of pain physiology and the structure of the musculoskeletal system and provide an overview of a systematic approach to diagnosis in rheumatology. The authors subsequently embark on a diagnostic approach for evaluating regional musculoskeletal pain syndromes in 8 consecutive chapters comprising approximately half of the text. A detailed, thorough description of physical examination findings and pertinent diagnostic maneuvers is included.
