Currently, many standard reference textbooks on Cardiovascular Medicine are available, including the 12th edition of Hurst's The Heart (McGraw-Hill, 2007), the eighth edition of Braunwald's Heart Disease: A Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine (Saunders, 2007), the third edition of Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine (Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2006), the third edition of Cardiovascular Medicine (Springer, 2007), and the third edition of Cardiology (Mosby, 2009). These multiauthored textbooks are all comprehensive, well written, and highly informative and are replete with pictures and illustrations; some also include DVD-ROMs presenting downloadable slides, coronary cineangiography, and other imaging modalities, including echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography angiography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, and nuclear scans.
