MR Imaging of the Body is an ambitious undertaking. In 672 pages, the authors cover pathology occurring outside of the central nervous system (CNS)—neck, chest, female breast, heart, abdomen, pelvis, lymph nodes, peripheral skeletal system, and blood vessels. Sections are well organized and contain a quick overview of necessary magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques, followed by a general review of the anatomy and relevant pathologies. Pathologies for each body part are logically divided into inflammatory, congenital, traumatic, and neoplastic categories. Each disease process is concisely presented in several paragraphs, and relevant imaging findings are highlighted in blue subsections labeled “MRI Specifics.” This is helpful, because it allows the reader to skim pages within a chapter and quickly find an explanation of MRI findings.
