Research organizations from 10 countries are launching a collaboration to compile a comprehensive catalog of genetic mutations involved in 50 types of cancer.
Currently, the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC), announced on April 29, has members in Australia, Canada, China, Europe, France, India, Japan, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The consortium says that membership is “open to all entities that agree to follow its principles and guidelines,” which are available on the ICGC's Web site (http://www.icgc.org).
