With this new edition, Comprehensive Gynecology has appeared in 6 editions spanning 25 years. The text has 5 major parts entitled “Basic Science,” “Comprehensive Evaluation of the Female,” “General Gynecology,” “Gynecologic Oncology,” and “Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.” The chapters within each part include headings, subheadings, charts, and diagrams and conclude with a section on key points. The key points sections will be a useful feature for readers who wish to scan a chapter to determine what is important or if it contains information that requires further study. The publishers also provide a website that allows readers to access an electronic version of the textbook. In addition, the website has a search engine that allows users to locate topics of interest within the text. Another useful feature is the linkage of the references contained in each chapter to PubMed, which enables the reader to access an abstract of the reference if the article is indexed on the PubMed site.
