PETRIELLIDIUM boydii is the current nomenclature for a fungus of the Ascomycetes family, formerly called Allescheria boydii (sexual form) and Monosporium apiospermum (asexual form).1Petriellidium boydii, a ubiquitous organism in nature, has rarely been reported to be the cause of disease in man. It has been the pathogenic agent in Madura foot, invasive pulmonary lesions, meningoencephalitis, endophthalmitis, chronic prostatitis, and chronic otitis externa.1 In addition, it is a proved intracavitary pulmonary saprophyte. Many of the cases have been reported in immunosuppressed hosts, but cases have occurred in normal hosts. To our knowledge, this is the first report of sinus involvement with P boydii.
