ABSTRACT

AIR FORCE 

New Assignment.—  Col. William F. Cook, M.C., was named command surgeon for the Tactical Air Command at Langley Air Force Base where he was formerly deputy command surgeon for the Tactical Air Command. He replaced Brig. Gen. J. R. Copenhaver, who retired.

ARMY 

Promotions.—  Dr. V. M. Sim, formerly chief of the Clinical Research Division of the Army Chemical Research and Development Laboratories at the Army Chemical Center, Maryland, was named deputy director of medical research at the center. —Brig. Gen. H. W. Doan, the Deputy Surgeon General, was promoted to the rank of major general.

PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE 

Tuberculosis Control.—  The tuberculosis activities of the Public Health Service will be moved to Atlanta, Ga., by June 30, and will be housed with other elements of the communicable disease control activities of the Service. The tuberculosis control program, which has been located in the
