New Assignment.—
Col. William F. Cook, M.C., was named command surgeon for the Tactical Air Command at Langley Air Force Base where he was formerly deputy command surgeon for the Tactical Air Command. He replaced Brig. Gen. J. R. Copenhaver, who retired.

Promotions.—
Dr. V. M. Sim, formerly chief of the Clinical Research Division of the Army Chemical Research and Development Laboratories at the Army Chemical Center, Maryland, was named deputy director of medical research at the center. —Brig. Gen. H. W. Doan, the Deputy Surgeon General, was promoted to the rank of major general.
