Dr. William
Metcalfe of New York City writes to point out some decimal errors in the multiple discipline research forum paper which he co-authored with Drs. Howard G. Greene and Harold Blumberg (Some Quantitative Aspects of Nitrogen Retention with Norethandrolone, JAMA183:108-110 [Jan 121 1963).
On p 109, the sentence beginning five lines from the bottom of column 1 should have read: "The mean retention in milligrams per kilogram was 39.3, S.D. ±11.2, S.E. ±2.5, and in milligrams per square meter it was 1,440, S.D. ±407 and S.E. ±98." The sentence beginning eight lines from the bottom of column 2 should have read: "Although a slightly narrower range of values resulted (790 to 2,050 mg/sq meter/day, a 2.5-fold range), the expression of retention on this basis had no better statistical validity than the others."
In the "mg/M2" axis of Fig 2, the numbers should have been 2,000, 1,700,
