The "clinics" type of medical journalism now adds to its growing numbers International Anesthesiology Clinics. Each quarterly issue is to be written "by authorities in this country and abroad so that a truly international look in the field can be had." Volume I, Number I of this series is focused on pediatric anesthesia and originates from Boston.
The included material is divided into two sections. The shorter first section is concerned with basic pediatrics in the areas of neurology, respiration, radiology, and pulmonary circulation. The second section consists of articles on clinical management of various aspects of pediatric anesthesia. The subject material, by acknowledged authorities in their several fields, is accurate but, unfortunately, necessarily selective. For example, in the section on neurology, more emphasis is placed on pathologic neurologic condition than on the maturation of the normal nervous system.
