The AMA and each of us lost a man of towering strength. But his rich experience, his wide knowledge, and his good humor have not departed from us. Our memories of him are deep, and even death and time shall not take them from us. The sorrow that each of us shares with his bereaved family is profound and lasting. Yet we all can take heart that this man, this physician, this great medical leader, served his fellow man in the true spirit of his Maker.
