To the Editor:—
Psychotics in our study were hospitalized schizophrenics, diagnosed as such by competent psychiatrists. Symptomatology in our chemical reactors is indeed similar to that of psychotic individuals. In the former group, fortunately, the relationship between abnormal behavior and chemicals in the environment was recognized, and the patients' behavior became normal when offending substances were removed from the environment. Reactions of a "psychosomatic nature" are a well-known response to drugs, poisons, and vitamin deficiencies. Their occurrence in more than one condition does not detract from the reality of a clinical picture.
