The five physicians pictured above were members of the faculty of the ninth postgraduate course in cardiology for foreign physicians sponsored by the American College of Cardiology.
Last week the group completed a two-week tour during which they presented instructions to physicians in Greece, Bulgaria, and Rumania. In the 2 1/2 years the program has been operated by the college and the Cultural Affairs Department of the US State Department, American physicians have visited 22 countries.
Another team returned a week earlier from a circuit course which included visits to Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Japan.
Nineteen members of the college's overseas faculties recently were chosen as recipients of the Theodore and Susan Cummings Award, donated annually by Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Cummings, Los Angeles philanthropists. The award was presented in Washington, DC, by John R. Bietz of the State Department, who called the program "A most successful international effort."
