Pathology of the blood vessels of the lung may seem an extremely restricted subject for a quarto volume of almost 500 pages. But so interrelated is all knowledge that when we take one small area and study it intensively, we find surprising ramifications. Boundaries seem to fall away, and we confront not a narrow specialty but, rather, broad reaches of medical science.
The volume begins by discussing the normal pulmonary vasculature at different ages. The pathological analyses contain a section on socalled general pathology which describes changes that affect one or another part of the vascular wall, or the wall as a whole. The greater part of the book, however, studies more or less specific disease states.
